TRAFFIC VIOLATION ATTORNEYS REPRESENT CLIENTS IN NEW JERSEY

NJ Traffic Lawyers defend clients against tickets and moving violations

If you receive a New Jersey traffic ticket, you might just see it as a nuisance. What most people don’t know is that traffic violations can mean big trouble for New Jersey motorists. Traffic tickets can send your car insurance premiums skyrocketing. They mean big fines and in some cases, suspension of your driver’s license.

A traffic ticket is a blot on your driving record that employers and volunteer organizations can find any time they do a background check. Some New Jersey traffic violations are even classified as crimes. That means that it’s important to take traffic citations seriously.

We work tirelessly for clients who find themselves charged with traffic violations in the State of New Jersey. These offenses are serious, and we defend our clients with 100 percent of our energy in each and every case. We work tirelessly to minimize fines and points, and we work for complete dismissal of your traffic violation.

  • Hit-and-run accidents

It does not matter what type of moving or nonmoving violation you have been charged with, our attorneys have the experience to properly represent you in a court of law.

New Jersey’s point system
Most traffic violations come with points assessed on your license by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. For example, failure to yield comes with two points assessed on your license. The Motor Vehicle Commission assesses five points on your license for tailgating. If you get six or more points in three years, you have to pay surcharges to the State of New Jersey. Even a few tickets can really add up. These surcharges can be hundreds of dollars on top of what you already have to pay for the original ticket itself.

Types of violations
At Haveson and Otis, we work with good people who have been charged with a variety of New Jersey traffic violations. If you’re convicted of reckless driving, you can receive serious jail time in addition to fines and points. Speeding, failing to signal and failing to wear a seat belt are other common New Jersey traffic violations. You might find yourself in trouble if you flee the scene of an accident, run a red light or operate a vehicle with an expired registration or while you have a suspended license. All of these offenses can carry serious consequences for you.
