Mr. Otis is a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney. He has served as Municipal Prosecutor in Montgomery Township since 2002. He served as Municipal Prosecutor in both Princeton Borough and Princeton Township from 2005-2007 and as Municipal Prosecutor in Pennington Borough from 1988-1998. Mr. Otis is a former Chief of the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office of Rape and Child Abuse. He has vast experience in the defense of DWI/DUI cases and in major criminal cases, including defense of drug cases, sexual assault, money laundering and other major crimes.
Mr. Otis is also an experienced and accomplished general practice attorney. He holds an advanced degree in Estate Planning. He has handled real estate purchases, sales and refinancings throughout central New Jersey for 25 years. He has represented numerous small businesses in formation, lease negotiations and regulatory compliance. Mr. Otis has also handled numerous personal injury matters including deep tissue brain injury and automobile negligence. He has handled numerous expungements and landlord/tenant matters. He has appeared in state and federal courts throughout New Jersey in civil litigation matters.
Mr. Otis has extensive experience in all aspects of criminal defense. He is one of a small number of attorneys in Mercer County certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Criminal Trial Attorney.
Mr. Otis has provided a broad range of services to the residents of Princeton and surrounding areas for the past twenty five years, including estate planning, small business, personal injury and real estate.
Prior to founding Haveson and Otis in 1989 Mr. Otis served as Senior Assistant Prosecutor, Mercer County from 1985-1989 where he was Chief of the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit. He also served in the Appellate Section of the New Jersey Attorney General's Office from 1980 to 1981 and as Law Clerk to the Honorable Paul G. Levy, J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey - Law Division, Trenton from 1979-1980.
